Sometimes He is a Weirdo...

Quote from "The Machinist" US Blu-Ray special features. Michael Ironside (Miller) talks about Christian Bale in "Manifesting the Machinist"

我們一起去吃晚餐，他要我們描述食物的滋味。這傢伙真的是飯桌旁的變態，他用那副虛弱的神態問著我們「那嚐起來的味道如何？」

他從機械操作室前的換衣間走進來上工，然後我就聽到有人不斷呼著我的名字 "Michael, Michael"。我看了看四周，他對我說「你過來一下。」我只看到他整個人像具骷髏般。他轉了身說「我的屁股不太對勁兒。」他整個人整身肉都掉光光了，他屁股的肉也掉光光了。我對他說「沒錯，Christian，你的屁股都沒肉了。」他的屁股跟我祖父的屁股沒兩樣。我告訴他說「你的屁股沒有肉。你打算要維持這樣多久？」他卻回我說「太好了，因為今天我就要結束這樣的狀態，我要開始轉變了。」

We'd go out to dinner, and he'd ask us to describe the taste of the food. I mean, this man is a sick individual to sit at the table, all emaciated, and say, "What's it taste like?"

He came to work, it was in front of the machine shop, and we had these little dressing rooms and stuff. And I heard, "Michael, Michael." I look around, and he says, "Come here, come here." And he had his overalls on and this skeletal form. He turned around, and he says "There's something wrong with my ass." He dropped his overalls, and his ass had dropped. I said, "Yeah, Christian. Your ass has dropped." It looked like my grandfather's ass. And he went, "What?" I said, "It's dropped. How long are you going to take that?" And he went, "Good, because today's the end of it. Today I turn around. I start going the other way."

我之所以抓 "The Machinist" 的這個畫面來配上這段話的原因是，他在演這場戲時一口咬下那雞肉時，他其實差點忍不住食物的誘惑而多咬了好幾口。

就像他曾說過的，「那些執著過度的人總是會引起人們的興趣」。讓我這麼喜歡他的原因，除了他長得很帥氣，加上在我的眼中他的演技很中肯深入，讓我更對他著迷的就是他那股對角色的熱情，甚至有點過度投入，投入到甚至有點走火入魔，有時候還覺得他有點病態。類似以上投入的小插曲，幾乎在每部電影中都多少有所耳聞，知道越多越覺得他迷人呢！
