Long post!

So KnighttimeRises and I had a wonderful, perfect time at the screening, everyone!

We were 4th and 5th in line after getting to the theater at about 1 p.m. We stood in line for 6 hours straight in the chilly weather and met another super nice Bale fan named Colin, with whom we talked for hours, so it made the time pass.

We were lucky to get into the theater at 6:40 p.m. after all the guild people were admitted. Some in line were turned away, and I felt bad for them.

Unfortunately, theater staff confiscated our cell phones before we went into the theater, so the only photo we got was after we got our phones back, and Bale was signing for other people.

The movie started shortly after 7 p.m. It was beautiful, emotional, moving. Bale gave the performance of his career, just brilliant. You guys will love him in this. Knighttime and I both agree that this is our favorite performance and favorite character he's ever played. I don't want to go into plot details, but suffice it to say, I was crying often and was glad I brought tissues.

After the movie, there was a Q&A featuring Bale, director Zhang Yimou, actress Ni Ni, an interpreter and the L.A. Times moderator. Knighttime and I started a standing ovation when they entered the theater.

There were some good questions posed and answered. Bale looked handsome as always and was wearing khaki pants and a long-sleeved blue button-down shirt. He had a beard, and his hair is getting longer. (Regretfully, we both forgot to look to see if he was wearing our favorite brown shoes.) He was very charming and funny, as always.

When the moderator mentioned Bale's Oscar, I started the audience applause. That was so cool. (It's always a risk when you do that, in the event that the rest of the audience doesn't follow suit.)

After a while, they took questions from the audience. Knighttime raised his hand, they gave him the microphone, and asked him to stand up. He said, "I have a few comments. I represent your IMDb message board, and I just wanted to say that you're my favorite actor in the world, and you and Bruce Lee are my inspiration. Ni Ni, you're drop-dead gorgeous. And Mr. Yimou, I loved 'Flying Daggers,' and I can't wait to watch this movie again." Bale thanked Knighttime, and everyone applauded in agreement.

Knighttime did so well and was so composed! I would have been spewing jibberish had it been me with the microphone. Hopefully this Q&A will end up online so you all can see it.

After the audience questions, we all applauded and gave a standing ovation. Bale stayed in the theater standing against a side wall and started signing autographs. Knighttime and I made our way to the wall and waited our turn.

As Bale was attending to the guy in front of me, I offered to take a photo of them both with the guy's camera. I asked, "Hey, how did you smuggle a camera in here?" My hands were shaking so badly. I said, "I don't think I can do this because my hands are shaking." I was having trouble, and they were like, "You gotta hold the button down." How embarrassing!

Bale then came up to us, and I asked if he could sign a FoW photo of the movie poster. He asked my name, and I said, "Maria." I told him I flew here from Minnesota just to see this movie. The theater attendant asked Knighttime if he was the IMDb guy. He said yes, and this prompted Bale to talk about IMDb. He asked why he isn't ever able to correct things on his page. He said some quotes on there he never said. Then Sibi chimed in and said that there is incorrect information about her on IMDb as well, such as that she was once a refugee or something. I said that I don't know why he isn't able to correct things and that I myself have tried to correct misinformation on his page to no avail. I told Sibi that everyone on the message board loves her and always speaks highly of her. She smiled.

As Bale moved on to talk to Knighttime (he will fill you in on that), I asked Sibi if she would mind if I were to give Bale a hug, and she said, "Yes." To make sure I didn't misunderstand, I asked a different way, and she said she's not OK with that. So I asked her if I could shake his hand and she nodded yes. Good for her, I thought, to stand her ground. I wouldn't want all these women fawning after my husband either, so I totally respect her.

Then I shook Bale's hand and said something or other; it's all a blur.

I had Knighttime's FoW movie photo in my hand, and I said to Knighttime, "Oh, crap. I forgot to have Christian sign it." Sibi heard me say this, and she stopped Christian, who was over by the next person in line. She had him sign it for Knighttime. That was SO NICE of her to do.

We managed to follow Bale out into the hall. We got our cell phones back, turned them on and followed. Knighttime took a photo of Bale signing an autograph for someone. Mine didn't turn out.

It's too bad we couldn't get a photo WITH Bale like we had hoped, but there are absolutely no regrets. Our expectations were met and far exceeded by having an awesome interaction with Bale. He is a class act all around. Seriously, he is so nice.

After they left, Knighttime, Colin and I hightailed it downstairs to valet parking. Bale et al had already left. However, we were delighted to see Zhang Yimou and Ni Ni as they were going to their car. Knighttime got a photo with the beautiful Ni Ni. I got Yimou's and Ni Ni's signature on both of our movie photos. I told Yimou through his interpreter that I flew 1,800 miles from Minnesota today just to see his movie and how much I loved it. I told Ni Ni what a beautiful job se did in the film.

So there you have it, folks. I'm exhausted and have been awake for 24+ hours. My plane leaves in four hours from now, so I can only sleep two hours ... but probably won't at all because of the adrenaline rush.

Much appreciation goes to KnighttimeRises for his friendship and camaraderie on this very special day. And thank you to everyone for all of your well wishes. You were there with us in spirit.

Christian Bale is the best!

it was another wonderful encounter with Bale and Im so happy Maria and I were able to have such a great and memorable experience. Im really happy that Marias dedication paid off... I was worried at one point that we may not be lucky to see him again but we did. There are so many great moments that I;lltry to write as much as I can with my cast. The movie was gorgeous and really exceeded my expectations. in the beginning I thought Bale was a little bit like DIcky but later on his character got better. I got teary eyed in many scenes.

After the movie was done the Q & A occurred and I kept raising my hand hoping that I will get lucky and thankfully one of the guys gave me the mic and whispered "dont freak out" and I said :"dont worry I wnont" I prepared myself to be calm and had to put my acting chops to sound as normal as possible. My legs were shaking and my heart was beating.. it felt like it was the Kings speech. After Bale answered a long question the guy who gave me the mic said "geoff someone has a question" I ended up saying "I represent your imdbbb(stuttered) board and I have some comments to say and I would like to say that Bale you are my favorite actor in the world and that you and Bruce lee are my inspiration, Nini you're drop dead gorgeous, and Mr Yimou I loved flying daggers and I cant wait to watch this movie again." They all said thank you =] then geoff said "funny that bruce lee has a cast on his hand" lol.. btw Maria and I noticed he was still sporting the gray hair haha.

By the way Bale does go on imdb... he came up to me and asked how you can change the quotes because some of the quotes aren;t true. He was talking a lot to me and was very curious and I kinda froze because I was thinking to myself... "is this really happening???" He was looking at me and smiling. His tone of voice was like at the backstage oscar "what are all these cards for.. do you win something?" He was very eager to know but I told him "honestly I have no clue" and Maria said sometimes it doesn;t work trying to edit . Bale smiled and laughed and said "youre indenial you cant answer" lol and I said sorry... I shook his hand with my blue cast lol. I asked him if he liked my Fighter shirt and he said "yeah I do! (he sounded so happy).. I actually spoke to Mickey not too long ago!" (wow.. its like I'm having a normal conversation with him lol!) His wife was super friendly and pretty! Maria said I should have gotten an autograph and Sibi said "are you sure you dont want one?" and I said "its ok I dont wantto bother him" and she said "no it;s fine dont worry... christian he wants an autograph from you." He said "yeah of course what;s your name?" and I said "franklin like the turtle" Bale.."is he your own personal turtle or are you a turtle" and I said " my own personal turtle" He smiled again and thanked him and shook his hand again. I thanked his wife and tried to shake her hand and she said "I dont want to hurt you Im kinda clumbsy" (i tried shaking with my cast) so I shook with my left hand and she gave me a smile and said "you're welcome".... I cant believe what just happened.... Bale's wife helped me get his autograph.... and Bale was asking me questions about imdb with such curiousity.. Me and maria were like whoaa... he actually goes on here lol. Maybe not the message boards but he does read the quotes area.

unfortunately we ddint have our cell phones with us since they put our phones in a bag. Some people lucked out in having their cameras in the theater. Really wished we had a camera but its all good. This experience beats the fighter premiete. Its been an exact year since the fighter premiere. Im just so elated that I got to do this with Maria.. Shes so sweet.

Getting to take a picture with Nini was awesome. She was very kind and so pretty. I could feel my cheeks turning red after taking a photo. I shook her hand and did a little bow and she did the same. I also shook Yimous hands and bowed. the interpreter said "spread the word" and I said " Oh I definitely will, I'll tell my family and friends to check it out". I waved at them and they waved back. =]

Maria and I said we're done meeting Bale, this is our conclusion. I honestly didnt think this would happen but it did.... Im so happy and feel emotional right now. I told Maria my eyes teared up but the tears wouldnt go down lol. I feel so overwhelmed and once again Ill never forget this. Thanks again guys for the help and opportunity
