Tom Hardy talked about meeting Christian Bale on the set

這陣子可能是因為在宣傳其他電影，所以上了一個 Jonathan Ross Show 的 Talk Show。他談到了與 Bale 在試鏡時的過程，還蠻有趣的。

「我迫不亟待地想見到 Christian，因為他是這麼刺激的一個人... 我聽過他在 McG 電影火爆的錄音... 而我在這部電影中扮演壞蛋，我還得與 Batman 大打出手... 他又是個這麼靈活的人。在我第一次與他見面時，是我們一起到洛杉磯做試鏡的時候。我正在試 Bane 的裝扮，鍛鍊出來的肌肉讓我覺得強壯。我走到休息拖車時看到了 Christian 坐在那邊，他身上只穿著一件汗衫。我看著他的手臂想著「等著瞧，我會打敗他。」我說「你好，一切都好嗎？」他回我說「Tom，你好嗎？」

「之後我穿上了我的戲服，走進片場... 那個巨大的影子也出現在片場。加上那對尖耳朵，他看起來約 10 英呎高，八英呎寬。我看著他，他看著我的感覺就好像在說「沒錯，我就是 Batman」我注視著他的眼睛，（註：我不懂他說 I was three 的意思，跳過）我就是不自禁地想去碰他的蝙蝠裝，想找到他的弱點，這樣我至少才有辦法修理他。他是駭人的 Batman，他眼神如死光看著我，我腦袋只是想著「我絕對沒辦法承受得起這樣的攻擊，來自 Christian Bale 的攻擊，那個來自 Batman 的攻擊。」

He said: “I really wanted to meet Christian because he’s exciting…I had heard about his fiery off-kick on the McG film…I played the bad guy in this and so I had to do a lot of fighting with Batman…and he is a very handy individual. When I saw him first time, when I got to LA and we were doing the screen test and I was trying on the Bane outfit and I’d put on some weight and I felt strong, I’d been training. And I got to the trailer and I saw Christian sat there and he didn’t have a t-shirt, just a vest on and I looked at his arms and I thought, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna walk this.’ I was like, ‘How are you? Are you good?’ And he was like, ‘How are you Tom?’

“Then I got in my outfit and I went on set…and this huge looming figure turned up on set. About 10 foot tall and eight foot wide with huge pointy ears and I looked at him and he was looking at me as if to say, ‘Yeah, I’m Batman.’ And I looked him in the eyes and I was three. And I couldn’t stop touching the suit, looking for a way in, so I could at least cut him. He’s terrifying Batman, and he looked me dead in the eyes and I thought, ‘I’m never going to be able to survive the onslaught that is Christian Bale, or Batman.’”
